Who the heck are we?
Glad you asked. We're MN Home Outlet – a growing, local retail store chain that sells home improvement and home goods at way better prices than anyone else in the Twin Cities. Cocky? Maybe. True? Yep.
Who's our ideal candidate?
Great question. We're looking for someone with retail or sales experience who's customer-focused, extroverted, and doesn't mind getting their hands dirty. We also want someone who's a self-starter and relishes in hitting goals and growing alongside our company. Lastly, we like team players who are unselfishly willing to help their peers succeed. How much are we paying (hint: base pay + commission + bonuses)?
Another good question. You'll start with a base pay of $13.50 - $16.50/hour (DOE and schedule).
Plus, you will make commission on any sales over $1,000 and it's uncapped with no quotas! This means that you could easily add another $10,000 to your annual pay if you have a sales mindset and love working with customers in a pressure-free environment.
Even better, after 6 months, you'll also be eligible for company-wide bonuses. When we win, you win!
How many hours per week is the position?
We're looking for full-time and part-time hires at both stores. Our hours are Monday - Sunday, 9am - 7:30pm. We are scheduling all full-time employees with 4, 10-hour shifts per week. Part-time employees also work 10-hour shifts. You must be able to work on Saturdays and Sundays.
This means that in addition to a steady, full-time schedule, you will also have 3-day weekends! Who doesn't love more time off, right?
What are the general responsibilities of this role?
- Be a customer service champion. We like to make people happy.
- Be a certified closer. You can't be afraid to sell.
- Be a professional. Enough said.
- Be able to work hard and have fun. It's a balance, right?
- Be debatably strong. You'll need to help load and restock heavy items.
What are the basic requirements of this role?
- High school education or equivalent
- Basic computer, internet and math skills
- Previous retail/sales/customer service experience preferred
- General knowledge of home improvement products is a plus
- Be able to stand on feet for the entire shift and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
- Forklift experience preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age
